Mark Simpson has been a Skateboarder since 1984 and by summer of 1986 was on shop sponsored team Mugal Mouse in Springfield Oregon. Mark was primarily a Street and Mini 1/2pipe rider but was and is well versed in Skateboard park riding and pool Skateboarding. Mark was given flow items from Santa Cruz Skateboards and Vision Skateboards around this time.In 1990 MARKEMARK won the OSAS Oregon State AM Skateboard Series. He place 1st place in mini and Street 1A 17-25 age group. After High School Mark moved to Seattle Washington and was Skateboarding around Seattle doing graphics for small Skateboard companies called Lib Tech Skateboards, Last Place Skateboards STP Skateboard Co. & Manna Skateboards. In 1994 Mark placed 2nd over all in 3A in Seattle biggest contest called Skate at the Needle. Mark was featured in Bored Skate & Snowboard magazine and was given 2 worldwide GNU Snowboards ads that aired in Snowboarder and Transworld Snowboarding. Mark was working at Mervin MFG Libtech and Gnu as a Snowboard builder and did Art graphics from 92-99. From 1999 to 2005 Mark’s brother Seth opened a Skate & Snowboard board shop called JohnnyWannas in Arlington and then it moved to Northgate Seattle. Mark did graphics for shop and skated during the 2000s. Mark moved to Sequim Washington to be closer to Skateboard parks, Surfing and Snowboarding and put down roots. In 2014 a group of like minded board enthusiasts Tim Stanford of Libtech Video/ Web- Master, Joshua King Surfer and Key Bank Manager P.A, Andrew Guimond Skater and Board Builder and Mark Simpson started the Sequim Youth Skatepark Foundation holding Contest and Skatepark Jams to raise money for Foundation. Today the Foundation has raised just about $16,000 and is a huge part of Sequim Skatepark Rebuild efforts with City of Sequim.
