History
The Sequim Skatepark was built in the 1990s, before the modern renaissance of skatepark design. The original park, with its large transitions and rough concrete, is better suited for for BMX riders. Due to the popularity of BMX in Sequim, the original park will be left in place; however, the new skatepark expansion will provide a safe environment better suited for skateboarders of every skill level to progress, from beginner to advanced.
Proposed Design
We are planning to modernize the Sequim Skatepark by expanding into the vacant grass field to the west of the existing park. The existing park will remain untouched due to its popularity with the BMX riders of Sequim. We worked with Grindline professional designers to draft a modern design that will have the skaters of Sequim ripping!
